Georg Stuby – Tableturner LP

Georg Stuby, an aspiring DJ and recent graduate, wanted a creative way into a record label. So I turned his job application into an LP.
A DJ applying to a record label has a format problem: everyone else applies on paper, and paper gets filed. Georg wanted an application a label couldn't put in a drawer. The right medium was obvious once you said it out loud — a record.
The application is an LP cut from black Perspex and engraved on a laser cutter. The introduction letter to the label lives on the disc itself. Turn it over and the track listing on the back is his curriculum vitae. The slip case is laser cut too, then assembled by hand.
Three complete records, start to finish, in a single evening. One designer, one laser cutter. I love that machine.

Send a record label a CV and it joins the pile. Send them a record and it gets played.
