Lydia Seltz – business card

A business card for my sister, the interior architect Lydia Seltz. Small format, nowhere to hide.
The brief was as small as the object itself: one card, done quickly, done properly. Family work tends to raise the bar rather than lower it — an interior architect notices the things everyone else walks past.
Most of the character lives in the type. Two faces do the work: Aquus by Felix Auer, and Cantabile by Harold Lohner. One holds the structure, the other adds the hand-drawn note.
On a piece of card this small, the choice of letterforms is most of the design. Get those two right and there is very little left to decorate.
On a card this small, the typeface is the design.
